Worst Part About Favre’s Retirement? No Future Matchup with Brady
The New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers weren’t scheduled to meet each other during the regular season, so about half of America was hoping they’d face each other in Super Bowl XLII. We didn’t get to see the two best quarterbacks in the League — Tom Brady and Brett Favre — play each other last year. A big disappointment.
Now that Brett Favre has decided to retire, his last career pass an interception — UGH– we can only mourn what coulda been.
Imagine: Tom Brady – the model-gorgeous Patriots QB with the pocket presence, long arm and intense focus of a born leader; facing his older compadre, Favre – not as pretty, but WAY cute (fireman cute) – the guy with the most touchdowns in NFL history, a reputation for being a “gunslinger” (getting rid of the ball quickly, while on the run) and someone who has arguably had more fun at QB than anybody else in his generation.
We’ll never see that show unless Favre changes his mind. Only then will it be possible for them to meet face to face, on the field of battle.
But I’m just going through the stages of acceptance. I don’t think it’ll happen. And that sucks.
Yours Truly, A.F. Cook
