Super Tuesday Analysis, in a Nutshell

At Red Zone Blogitics, we weren’t surprised by Democrat Barack Obama’s strong showing in “red” and “purple” states — the states that will decide the election. Obama appeals to Independents, potential crossover Republicans and the evolving, new, progressive-traditionalist face of the Democratic Party. The contest between Obama and Hillary Clinton is more of a war for the soul of the Party than a lot of people might realize. It’s also a war for the future — a future of winning — versus a failed strategic and policymaking past.

Further, all of the mystification about the popularity of Republican Mike Huckabee mystifies US. Besides having bass-playing skills and Chuck Norris as his virtual bodyguard, Huckabee has that insidiously “nice guy with a great sense of humor” thing goint on, masking a desire to turn the U.S. government into a Christian fundamentalist state. Liberals and leftist types like the kind I was interacting with last night on a Brave New Films forum underestimate the appeal of a potential Huckabee VP slot at their peril.

Yours Truly, A.F. Cook
